Michael was a long time member of Special Olympics St. John's division, bowling, under the care and guidance of Maryann and Velmer and all the other coaches. He enjoyed all the dances, dinners, travel and tournaments and of course his medals. He was so proud of his unexpected gold medal from Thunder Bay winter games He was a member of the Hub where he played darts and was very proud of all of his friends and team mates. He welcomed the guidance of Winnie and Jim who guided him over the years. He entertained singing and playing his spoons every where he went.

Michael had a large number of nieces and nephews and their children. Sean Walsh made his day anytime he took him to his cabin with his father and sister. Michael lived with a number of siblings since his mom and dad passed. He was 6 when his dad died and 17 when he lost his mom. The Best moment of his life was getting and maintaining his own apartment 8 years ago in Kellys Brook apartments. He fit in so easily and loved them all. Some referred to him as Little Mike.
