Note: STRICKLAND, Derrick (Rick) - November 15, 1960 - May 28, 2015 It is with great sadness that the family announces the sudden and unexpected passing of Derrick (Rick) Strickland our beloved, devoted, and hardworking Father, Grandfather, Brother, Uncle, and friend to many. Rick will be lovingly remembered by his two sons Richard & Ryan Atkins of Edmonton AB, his mother Marie Strickland of St. Johns, NL. Brothers & Sisters Ken Strickland (wife, Brenda) of Edmonton, AB, Mary Lethbridge of Aurora, ON, Michelle Strickland, Shawn Strickland, Jerry Strickland, Rodney Strickland of St. Johns, NL. Rick will also be remembered and missed by numerous Aunts, Uncles, Nieces and Nephews and close friends and colleagues. A memorial service will be held on Friday June 5th at 4:00 PM at South Side Memorial Chapel in Edmonton 8310 104 Street. In lieu of flowers the family requests a donation be made to your choice of charity in support of Heart & Stroke research, Lupus, youth addiction, and/or homelessness.
