Note: <p>In re Thomas Radford deceased</p><p><p>This is the last will and testament of me Thomas Radford of St. John’s Cooper. I desire that my just debts funeral and testamentary expenses be first paid by my executors hereinafter named. I give devise and bequeath my daughter Lydia wife of Francis Bastow the western half of the land with dwelling house thereon situate on the north side of Water Street in Saint John’s for her sole and separate use and benefit free of the control of her said husband subject to the right hereinafter reserved to my son Henry Thomas to occupy one room of the said house also to the payment of one third of the amount of a mortgage hereinafter mentioned. I also give and bequeath to the said Lydia Bastow one wooden bedstead now in the said house. I give and bequeath to my sons Henry Thomas and Archibald the eastern half of the before mentioned land with the dwelling house thereon situate immediately to the eastward and adjoining the land and house hereinbefore bequeathed to my daughter Lydia Bastow, also the piece of land bounded to the westward of the said dwelling house bequeathed to my said daughter bounded on the north by land of William Cullen West by land of Mary Ann Williams and south by Water Street, also the piece of land at present used as a garden situate north of the last mentioned piece of land, also the piece of water side land and premises bounded east by the public cove west by land of Lydia Radford and south by the waters of the harbor the said lands and premises to be held by my said sons as tenants in common and not as joint tenants, I also desire that my said son Henry Thomas shall have the use of an Attic room in the said house bequeathed to Lydia Bastow so long as the circumstances of my said son shall require the same. I also will and direct that the amount due by me and secured by mortgage upon the said dwelling house and land shall be paid by my said sons and daughter in equal proportions of one third each and that the lands and premises hereinbefore bequeathed to my said sons and daughter shall be charged with the payment of the said amount in the proportions aforesaid. I appoint Richard Harvey, Master Mariner, and William Charles Radford, Clerk, executors of this my will revoking all former and other wills by me at any time made. Witness my hand at St. John’s this fifth day of December A. D. one thousand eight hundred and eighty-two- Thomas Radford.
